heytappr.

heytappr for

an assistant that knows what you're looking at

google assistant popularised talking to your phone, but most of the time your question is about the screen in front of you. heytappr starts there, it reads the current app through android accessibility and answers in context.

“hey heytappr, what does this settings toggle actually do?”

context comes from the screen, not just your voice

ask about the article, form, or menu you already have open and heytappr answers about that exact screen. it reads structured text and controls through accessibility, and sends a screenshot to openai only when visual context is genuinely needed.

it can finish the task, visibly

say “hey heytappr agent” and it taps, scrolls, and types on the real ui, opening apps and moving between screens while you watch. no per-app integrations, and you can interrupt at any moment if it takes a wrong turn.

open source, with revocable permissions

the code is public on github, and everything runs on two android permissions, accessibility and display over other apps, that you can switch off anytime. raw screenshots are never stored in heytappr's own cloud backend.

drop your email, watch the 30-second demo, and grab the app.

questions people ask

Can HeyTappr replace Google Assistant entirely?
It depends on what you use an assistant for. HeyTappr focuses on understanding the screen you're on and acting inside apps, rather than connecting to your accounts or smart home. Many people keep both installed and reach for HeyTappr when the question is about what's on screen.
Does it work offline like some built-in assistant features?
No. HeyTappr needs an internet connection because it's powered by OpenAI voice and reasoning models. It also can't operate protected screens like password fields, which Android deliberately hides from accessibility services.
