what is
time to value
in one line
time to value (ttv) is how long it takes a new user to get their first meaningful result from a product after signing up.
time to value, or ttv, measures the gap between a user signing up and that user getting something real out of the product. what counts as value depends on the product: a first report, a first payment, a first shipped message.
the longer that gap, the more chances a user has to give up. every setup step, confusing screen, and unanswered question adds time, and new users have very little patience before they've seen any payoff.
teams shorten time to value by cutting steps, pre-filling data, and making sure help is right there when someone gets stuck. waiting for a support reply is one of the biggest silent contributors to slow ttv.
where heytappr fits
heytappr shortens time to value by replacing "search the docs, then file a ticket" with an answer on the live page. the user asks, gets walked through the step, and keeps moving.
